“48 Meters Down” Set For June 2019

Entertainment Studios Motion Pictures has announced that they have acquired worldwide distribution rights to the suspense thriller “48 Meters Down”.

The follow-up to this year’s Mandy Moore/Claire Holt shark thriller “47 Meters Down,” which has grossed over $58 million worldwide to date, will target a June 28th 2019 release.

Set around Recife in Brazil, the sequel sees a group of five girls from different backgrounds and countries who are united by their lust for life and adventure. They soon hear about a hidden underwater ruin from a local guide and seize the opportunity.

Unbeknownst to them, the caves where the forgotten city lies are not completely uninhabited. As they swim deeper into the submerged labyrinth of caves they enter the territory of the deadliest shark species in the ocean.

Johannes Roberts returns to direct from a script he is co-writing with Ernest Riera. James Harris, Mark Lane, Wayne Marc Godfrey and Robert Jones are producing.
