The CW has opted not to order “The L.A. Complex” or the reboots of “The 4400” or “Good Christian Bitches” to pilot this year reports Deadline. The projects are not dead however with all three being ‘rolled’ so as to have another shot at potentially moving forward next year.
A similar thing happened in 2017 when pilots for both a “Charmed” reboot and a TV series of “The Lost Boys” were rolled. “Charmed” made it to pilot and then series last year, while “The Lost Boys” scored a pilot order last month.
With “The 4400,” the script could not be finished and delivered on time while the showrunner’s commitments to CBS’ “The Code” also interfered with their availability. The “Good Christian Bitches” redo will be starting over from scratch as the network is high on the property but not on the current version.
The CW has six pilots in the works that could potentially become new series this Fall, including the aforementioned “The Lost Boys” along with “Batwoman,” “Jane the Novella,” “Nancy Drew” and the “Riverdale” spin-off “Katy Keene”.
