Plot: Based on the science fiction/horror novella by Stephen King that was included in his 1985 short-story collection "Skeleton Crew" and has been cited as one of his strongest stories and influencing various works including the hit "Half-Life" and "Silent Hill" video game series. Frank Darabont, who had considerable success with two King adaptations ("The Shawshank Redemption", "The Green Mile") returns to helm this.

The morning after a violent thunderstorm, a thick unnatural mist rapidly spreads across the small town of Bridgton, Maine, reducing visibility to near-zero and concealing numerous species of bizarre creatures that viciously attack anyone venturing out into the open. David Drayton and his son Billy become trapped along with a large group of people in the town supermarket. Along with the horrifying physical threat outside, a rapid psychological breakdown of the terrified people inside the market is underway as despair and fear take hold.
