2004 Emmy Nominations Announced

The nominations have been announced for the 56th annual Emmy Awards which will air September 19th on ABC and thanks mostly to “Angels in America” and “The Sopranos”, the HBO network dominated the line-up with the programs receiving 21 & 20 nods respectively and the network garnering a whopping 124 in all, nearly double that of nearest competitor NBC with 65.

Whilst the Emmys are notorious for sticking with favourites, this year saw some welcome inclusion of new critically hailed shows.
