If screenings of the ‘unrestored’ 70mm version recently weren’t enough, Warner Bros. Pictures is continuing the 50th anniversary celebration of Stanley Kubrick’s science fiction masterpiece “2001: A Space Odyssey” with plans for a one week only IMAX engagement starting August 24th.
This will mark the first time that moviegoers will have the opportunity to view the seminal film on the largest possible screen and Kubrick’s first film that will be released in IMAX theaters. Tickets will be available for sale this Friday August 3rd.
In other re-release news, a high-definition remaster of the 1986 animated feature film “The Transformers: The Movie” is returning to cinemas for one night only with an event on Thursday, September 27th at 7pm local time.
This special event is a collaboration between Fathom Events, Hasbro Studios and Shout! Factory, and it will also provide moviegoers with a sneak peek behind the making of the “Bumblebee” feature film, and a brand-new interview with singer-songwriter Stan Bush. A complete list of theater locations will be available at Fathomevents.com with tickets going on sale from this Friday.
