Netflix’s latest series “13 Reasons Why” has quickly become the most tweeted about show of 2017 in the three weeks since its release reports Variety.
The trade says the show has amassed more than 11 million tweets since its launch on March 30th, a suicide-themed drama based on the young adult novel of the same name, revolves around the suicide of a high school girl (Katherine Langford).
The series is trailed behind by “The Vampire Diaries” at No. 2 and “The Walking Dead” at No. 3. The show has been a critical favourite, but has also come under major fire from mental health professionals who have labelled it a dangerous extended revenge fantasy that romanticizes suicide according to NBC News.
In the final episode, Hannah’s suicide is shown in graphic detail so parents are advised to be mindful of what their kids are watching.
