Eon Productions, famous for its James Bond franchise, is extending its umbrella.
Sony Pictures Entertainment, who teamed with Eon on the first two Daniel Craig Bond films, will re-team with the company for a film version of Mark Burnell’s upcoming novel “Remote Control” reports the trades.
The thriller centers on a former war correspondent, now British corporate intelligence analyst, who gets caught up in a conspiracy by Western corporations to destabilize the Chinese economy.
Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli will produce, as will Mark Ordesky and Ileen Maisel of Amber Entertainment. Burnell will adapt his own novel.
Sony, EON and MGM are also working on a remake of family classic “Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.”
