“Predators” and upcoming “Hitman: Agent 47” writer Michael Finch has been hired to work on the script for the film adaptation of acclaimed video game series “Deus Ex” at CBS Films.
Set in the near future where human augmentation has triggered a technological renaissance, the story follows a security specialist named Adam Jensen who must embrace mechanical augments in order to unravel a global conspiracy.
Though launched in 2000, the franchise found new life and fans with 2011’s “Deus Ex: Human Revolution”. That game was not only a big earner but nabbed over 100 industry awards. As a result it will serve as the primary template for the film which Roy Lee and Adrian Askarieh are attached to produce.
Finch takes over from “Sinister” scribes Scott Derrickson and Robert Cargil. Scott Derrickson was originally attached to direct but his commitments to “Doctor Strange” now prevent that.
