Relativity has pushed back “Crazy Heart” director Scott Cooper’s new revenge thriller “Out Of The Furnace” in order to better position it for an awards qualifying run.
Originally slated for an October 4th wide release, the film is now targeting a limited release on November 27th ahead of a wider expansion beginning December 6th.
Christian Bale plays a steel mill worker who cares for his terminally ill father at night. His brother (Casey Affleck) returns from Iraq and falls in with a ruthless crime ring.
When the brother disappears, Bale’s character sets out to seek justice for his sibling. Woody Harrelson, Zoe Saldana, Sam Shepard and Willem Dafoe also star.
Cooper and Brad Ingelsby penned the script, while Leonardo DiCaprio, Jennifer Killoran, Ridley Scott, Michael Costigan and Ryan Kavanaugh are producing.
