With the SXSW Film Festival in full swing, various film producers are in Austin and talking with local press about various projects they have in development.
Micro-budget horror producer Jason Blum is in town to promote the haunted mirror tale “Oculus” which has scored solid reviews. Whilst there, Blum told STYD that the screenplays for both “Insidious Chapter 3” and “Sinister 2” have been completed.
Leigh Whannell penned the former, C. Robert Cargill and Scott Derrickson penned the latter. The hope is to get both into production by the Summer.
Also over the weekend, “Thor” star Chris Hemsworth appeared at the Wizard World Sacramento convention where he was asked about the upcoming “Avengers: Age of Ultron” sequel. He tells CBM:
“Everything in Avengers is ramped up though. It kind of blew me away reading it. I don’t know how Joss does it, but everyone has just gone up another notch and the whole thing is bigger and more insane and crazy. Yeah, he’s a genius.”
Hemsworth confirmed he begins filming in two months with his filming commitments in London expected to last four months.
