The Weinstein Company has pulled Olivier Dahan’s “Grace of Monaco” out of the awards race.
Originally slated for an awards-qualifying limited release on November 27th, the company has pushed the film fully into spring next year and will position it more as a commercial prospect.
The reason for the delay is said to be that more time is rehired to complete the project which stars Nicole Kidman, Tim Roth, Paz Vega, Parker Posey, Frank Langella and Derek Jacobi.
Meanwhile, Weinstein Co. has also set an August 15th 2014 release for Phillip Noyce’s film adaptation of the Lois Lowry young adult novel “The Giver”.
Meryl Streep, Jeff Bridges, Brenton Thwaites and Alexander Skarsgard star in the dystopian story set in a society devoid of any pain or strife, but also lacking any emotional dynamics.
