Sarah Rothschild has been set to write the romantic comedy “The Gauntlet” at Bluegrass Films and Universal Pictures says THR.
Based on an idea by Dana Fox, the story centers on a woman fresh off a catastrophic breakup. When she meets a new guy who actually is a good catch, she must endure the overprotective nature of her friends and family.
In other script news, Worldwide Pants, Rob Burnett and Jon Beckerman’s B&B Prods. have acquired feature film rights to Jonathan Evison’s novel “The Revised Fundamentals of Caregiving” says Variety.
The story follows a man who has lost virtually everything and enrolls in a night class taught in the basement of a local church.
Assigned to care for a teen patient, he realizes his training has done little to prepare him for the realities of caregiving. The two then embark upon a wild cross-country road trip.
Burnett will adapt the novel for the screen and plans to direct.
